"Friends Giving" Tuesday

As you may have seen recently, we suspended our donor campaign. Some folks have questioned that decision – who works at a non-profit and doesn’t ask for funding on Giving Tuesday?? I know, I know. But hear me out. I’m asking for “Friends Giving Tuesday” instead!

As a person who chose non-profit leadership as a career path many years ago, I’ve learned a thing or two along the way. One of the things I’ve learned is that most of the funding you get, most of the contracts you get, most of the grants you get … they come from your network. People you know, who have seen or experienced your organization’s work – who believe in what your organization is doing because they have witnessed the impact firsthand – they start to talk about your organization. And when they share your good work with others – that builds funding momentum. It helps you get the organization’s message and services out there in a new way, and it elevates your brand. Across time, building that network leads you to other opportunities … step by step … one by one.

So this year, Cypress is asking you to find us some new friends. Share our newsletter with folks – or ask your five best friends to follow us on LinkedIn and Instagram. Forward a post that made you smile to someone you think could use that smile today. Follow us yourself on Instagram or LinkedIn if you haven’t already. DM us an opportunity you see that you think we should know about. Connect with us and get us more connected!

“Friends Giving” is a genuine and important contribution to Cypress because it will lead us to the next funding opportunity … and the next … and the next.  Step by step … one by one.

So show us you believe in Cypress by showing us off!  We will be so grateful to watch our network grow.

Help us raise friends!

Follow us on Instagram and LinkedIn, and invite 5 friends to do the same!
